U.S. House, Texas District 22

2-year termOpen seat: incumbent Troy Nehls (R) did not seek re-election; the Republican nominee is his twin brother Trever Nehls. Ballotpedia earlier listed an American Independent Party filer (Demile James) who does not appear on the Secretary of State listing. Rated safe Republican per Ballotpedia. District lines: PlanC2333 (H.B. 4, 89th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, signed Aug. 29, 2025). A three-judge federal panel enjoined it Nov. 18, 2025; the U.S. Supreme Court stayed that order Dec. 4, 2025 (Texas Legislative Council timeline) and on April 27, 2026 summarily reversed in Abbott v.
